Bob Hughes

An experienced learning and development manager, leadership consultant,  coach and people manager, with a successful track record in leadership development, talent management, employee engagement and project delivery in major corporations.

  • Learning and development: Designed and implemented leadership development and coaching programmes.  Recent winner of the Personnel Today and the Business in the Community Big Tick awards for talent management.
  • Employee engagement:  Designed and led programmes to improve engagement levels resulting in significant increases through times of change.  Bob is the Chair of the Engage for Success ‘Guru Group’.  Engage for Success is a national initiative, supported by the UK government, looking at employee engagement, staff retention and organisational success across all organisational sectors.
  • Strategic design: Worked at and below Board level to develop strategies, e.g. in OD
  • Change Management: Shifted management cultures to more inclusive and effective styles, encouraging people to take ownership and responsibility.
  • Business Coaching: Coached leaders in many corporations, particularly successful with high potential leaders.. Professional Certified Coach (PCC) as accredited by the International Coach Federation – one of only around 80 in the UK to have this level of qualification. It requires a minimum, of 125 hours training and 750 hours coaching
  • People and Project Management: Led teams of up to 200 people in the delivery of multi-million pound software projects.
  • Training & Facilitation: Delivered training in coaching skills to over 1,000 managers. Designed and delivered a variety of training courses in the field of leadership development, coaching and change management.  Facilitate groups in corporate settings.
  • Leadership development assessment and diagnostic tools: Bob is qualified by the British Psychological Society to give feedback on psychometric and other leadership tools
  • Communication skills:  Wide experience of speaking to large national and international audiences. Most recently to conferences run by Executive Grapevine, CIPD, Marketing Week.

Bob has consulted for and coached CEOs and board members of organisations including Network Rail, Tubelines, Kuehne & Nagel and LVMH (the luxury goods company) – all of whom have complex supply chain/logistics/procurement challenges. Bob’s areas of expertise include talking nationally and internationally on the topics of Leadership, Employee Engagement & Talent Management.  He has been invited to speak at the forthcoming Global conference of the International Coach Federation, October 2012, London.
